When it was finally harvested and milled by Oradea’s legendary Darvas-La Roche company, it was reborn. It traveled down Crisul Repede river soaked with water. It was elevated into the high society of Belle Époque Oradea, integrated into the structural spine of the city's most luxurious Secession-era apartments. For another 120 years, it stood quietly in the ceiling, absorbing the ambient energy, the history, and the whimsy of Oradea’s upper class. Now, this heritage timber enters its third revival. Time, pressure, and indoor micro-climates physically altered the biochemistry of the wood. The rhythmic, lateral scars left by the original Darvas-La Roche sawblades have softened over a century into highly tactile, rolling ridges. As the internal sap slowly crystallized over decades, it locked those vivid copper and golden tones permanently into the cellular walls. Preserved flawlessly under our zero-epoxy mandate, the wood remains entirely breathable, allowing you to physically touch the history carved into its face.
