This particular small piece it's not our finest example :) It's a small, 30cm long piece from the heritage beams sequence. We can't oversell its mesmerizing unparalleled beauty. Bespoke furniture as they call it. Personally till this day I don't really understand what that truly means :).
Nevertheless let's talk about logistics. Sending wood especially thick ones like this beam or even thicker it's not that easy. Imagine putting a few tons of wood in a sealed or partly open container that can fluctuate in temperatures and humidity like crazy. Maybe 70C in a container on bare concrete for days and days, then sitting on a ship or train. Humidity, moisture content, huge temperature shifts might destroy relic, investment grade botanical assets easily. Sure I'm not speaking about this particular one here :).
And yes, hydro-stabilizing wood at KovaKelo stopped the biggest problems so it can be shipped in so-called extreme conditions compared to legacy woodworking practices.
