Usually or many times especially the fruit trees have that soft tissue compared to oak or walnut that's heavily under engineered by nature. It sounds strange but as finished architecture and studied engineering as well I can't help myself but notice that spruce and pine are built for the blizzards. Oak and walnut can endure...however sounds strange but the fruit trees...maybe I am miserably wrong but looks they are under engineered therefore it makes an "uncalculated" or better said unexpected twist on the tree. Look at the exterior. Sure that's a thuja on the image :) just reminded me of the orchard trees cause it was just heavily influenced of the exterior and reminded me.
