Extracted from the exact same mineral-dense clay banks as its twin, Item 013 is a dramatic study in subterranean survival. This complex root fragment served as a biological anchor in the Oradea thermal basin. For over a century, it filtered the heavy Triassic-era minerals and subterranean heat rising from the Peța river valley. The chaotic, twisting tentacles and deep structural cavities you see are the direct physical result of the tree navigating through impenetrable, iron-soaked earth. It is a masterpiece of natural, high-density cellular engineering.
Carbonized Voids & Surface Chemistry
To immortalize the intense trauma this root survived, we applied a traditional, Japanese-style fire-curing technique to the internal cavities. This localized carbonization achieves two things: it purifies the core by hardening the cellular walls, and it creates a mesmerizing, obsidian-black contrast against the raw, golden-honey grain of the exterior. (Note: The organic sealant was applied immediately prior to this photoshoot; the surface naturally cures into our signature, non-reflective high-solid matte state.) The dark, fire-forged interior perfectly highlights the raw photons interacting with the wood's deep-earth mineral oxidation.

We refuse to erase the violent natural history of this piece by filling its organic voids with synthetic plastic. True to our strict surface chemistry protocols, this architectural fragment is 100% epoxy-free. The charred crevices and smooth outer cambium are protected exclusively by a breathable, deep-penetrating micro-porous treatment. This ensures the wood remains self-healing, highly tactile, and permanently stabilized for modern indoor climates.
