When building these industrial machines and talked about politics briefly we had a realization. It applies here as well. We do not need to see what happens but the void it leaves behind and what will fulfill it. At this particular piece we see the bark from within. Me now stopping and thinking of it. Others cut century old wood like nothing. Making it flat ..wrapping it in epoxy or polyurethane. Sure sometimes you need to cut the wood. You can't just take a 5 ton monolith's within the house or hotel lobby. Wait actually we do that at KovaKelo. Nevertheless.
So at this item sometimes the void created. The bark from within has its own gravity. The larger the tree the harder to take it down in one piece. The issue is you cant really leave the bark on the tree . It contracts differently and in time will fall. However debarking it gives us not just one but 2 beauties. Notice the hundreds of deep trenches created. It's a mirror of the turmoil that the tree felt for centuries and decades. The twistedness within was a response from the tree. And here we see its mirror.

Formed through decades of environmental stress, the tree reacts by twisting its cellular grain into chaotic, hyper-dense knots. We preserved the striking contrast between this chaotic internal architecture and the smooth, flowing geometry of the surrounding wood.

The warm, golden-amber, brown hues radiating from the core are captured under natural architectural lighting with zero artificial color grading. The complex shadows trapped within the burl's cavities create a mesmerizing depth that artificial stains can never replicate. True to our surface mandate, we refused to fill these rare natural voids with plastic epoxy resin. Instead, the piece is protected by a breathable, micro-porous organic finish that bonds internally, leaving the original haptic texture of the wood completely untouched.
